Some properties in the Town use an onsite septic system rather than the sewer - section 10.01.060 governs those, and they are the owner's to maintain too - so check that your property is connected, and the name on your sewer bill, before relying on this.

Apple Valley Municipal Code section 10.01.100 provides that "Authorization to construct or install sewers or make connection to the Town sewer system must be obtained from the Town in advance", and section 10.01.110 that "Building sewer laterals shall not be connected to Town sewers until permits for connection have been issued by the Town."
What to do: Before replacing your lateral or reconnecting it, apply at the Town's office for the authorization and connection permit, and budget for restoring any street, sidewalk or parkway the trench crosses.
