Report a correction

There is no form on this page yet, and that is deliberate. A form posting into a mailbox nobody has agreed to watch is worse than no form: it implies a process that does not exist, and somebody with a real correction would believe they had filed it.

Until a monitored route is in place, corrections go to the project owner directly. A submission form arrives with the analytics and support work.

The three things that let a correction be checked quickly:

• The page. Its address, or the jurisdiction and requirement it concerned.
• What is wrong. What the page says, and what it should say.
• Where you saw otherwise. A link to the ordinance, the programme page or the record. This is the one that matters most: BelowGrid resolves disagreements by going to the source, so a report that names one is acted on far faster.

The claim is checked against the document it came from. Where the document disagrees with the page, the page is wrong and gets fixed.

Where a requirement was misread, the record behind it is rewritten from the document and every sentence quoted from it is checked against that document again before the page goes back up. A correction is held to the same check every other claim on the site is.

Where the source itself is wrong, BelowGrid cannot fix it. It will say what the source records and note the discrepancy, because reporting what an authority states is the product and quietly substituting a better answer would not be.

Property pages are never indexed by search engines, so a page about your home is not findable through search. If you would still rather the address were removed from BelowGrid entirely, ask and it will be.

Whether a requirement applies to your particular transaction is a question for the authority that issues it, not for BelowGrid. The page names that authority and links to it for exactly this reason.

BelowGrid also cannot tell you the condition of a sewer lateral. Nobody has looked at it, and no amount of records substitutes for an inspection.
