What to do: Before connecting, repairing, altering or capping the building sewer, apply to the City of Port Angeles for a permit; the owner or a licensed contractor representing the owner applies. Before backfilling a sewer connection, the owner or contractor must give the City 48 hours' notice and request an inspection; backfilling may occur only after that inspection.
Port Angeles Municipal Code section 13.61.100, Permit required (Ord. 3367, 2009)Why this matters
The owner maintains the whole building sewer, including its connection to the public sewer, so repairs to it are the owner's work, and they need the City's permit first.
