Port Angeles Municipal Code section 13.61.100(A) provides that "It is unlawful for any person to connect, or cause to be connected, repair, alter or cap, a building or structure sewer to any public sewer, without first obtaining a permit for such activity from the City of Port Angeles."
What to do: Before connecting, repairing, altering or capping the building sewer, apply to the City of Port Angeles for a permit; the owner or a licensed contractor representing the owner applies. Before backfilling a sewer connection, the owner or contractor must give the City 48 hours' notice and request an inspection; backfilling may occur only after that inspection.
