Who is responsible for which part

In Enumclaw the property owner is solely responsible for the private side sewer all the way to the public sewer, including the part under the street. Section 14.08.530(C) of the Enumclaw Municipal Code provides that "Property owners are solely responsible for the construction, maintenance, operations, repairs, or replacement of the private side sewer and any surface reconstruction requirements when performing said repairs."

What else is worth knowing

The dividing point is the connection to the public sewer. Section 14.08.050 adds that "In most circumstances, a portion of the private side sewer/side sewer extends into public streets or alleys connecting to the public sewer main." The City offers a side sewer repair loan to qualified customers. These sections govern property on the City's sewer; check the name on your sewer bill if you are not sure the City serves you.
