Who is responsible for which part

Corpus Christi installs and maintains the house service line from the sewer main to the property or easement line; the owner has the part on the property. Section 55-71(a) of the Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances provides that "The city or an authorized contractor shall install and maintain all house service lines for the city sewer mains to the nearest property or easement lines".

What decides which applies

The dividing point is the property or easement line, on a City sewer main. Not all of Corpus Christi is on City sewer mains. The Public Utility Commission of Texas maps certificated sewer areas of other utilities over about 17% of Corpus Christi's land, almost all Nueces County WCID 4's (about 16%). Check the name on your sewer bill, and if a district bills you, ask it where its part ends.
