Who is responsible for which part
Yreka maintains the water system up to the meter, and the property owner owns the line from the meter to the house. The City's water page states that "The Maintenance Division maintains the water mains from the tanks on the hills to the water meter near each property" and that "The property owner owns the line from the output side of the meter, the side closest to a house." This is Yreka's own statement.

- The property owner
- The line from the output side of the meter to the house. The City's utility answers add that "Property owners are responsible for maintaining all water laterals and water pipes on their side of the meter."

- This describes who is responsible for which part of the pipe. It is not a record of what your own service line is made of.
- This authority's service line inventory - the record of which pipes are lead, and where - has not been matched here yet. Ask the utility for yours.
Your other pipe: the sewer lateral
For the sewer lateral, Yreka gives the opposite answer to the one above:
In Yreka the property owner maintains the whole sewer lateral to the City's main, including the connection to it. Section 12.16.035(d)(1) of the City's code provides that "The property owner at property owner's expense shall maintain all sewer laterals and private sewers", and names among them "the connection to a city sanitary sewer main".
Your sewer lateral is yours to the main, fitting included; your water line stops being yours at the meter.
